CLANE WHEELERS 2018 2 DAY CHALLENGE

15th - 17th June 2018

Following on from last years hugely successful 2 day trip from Clane to Youghall, Clane wheelers Committee are delighted to present what promises to be another monumental trip. This time around we are heading from east to west.

Places were snapped up fast and we have 30 members getting ready for this challenging  2 day event.

DAY 1 ITINERARY 

07:30  - Arrive on Bikes at Clane GAA club (Bags will be dropped the night before)

08:00 - First group will leave Clane GAA club. Two groups to follow at 15 minute            intervals       

11:00   - After 50Km arrive in Mountmellick "The Hares Corner" for food break (45min)

14:15    - After descending "the Cut" and with 82K complete stop for light refreshments at Killenure National School (Roadside Stop 20min)                       

17:15    - Arrive at County Arms Hotel Birr with 110Km complete

20:00 - Dinner served

DAY 2 Itinerary 

07:45 - Collect bikes and prepare to leave County Arms Hotel

08:00 - First group will leave County Arms Hotel. Two groups to follow at 15 minute intervals

10:30 - After 50Km arrive in Derrybrien for light refreshments (Roadside Stop 20min)

13:15 - After 90Km arrive at Cassidys Pub & Restaurant in Carran for food (45min)

Route decision point 

From here members can pick from the following routes:

Route 1: 25Km to Lisdoonvarna with moderate short climbs

Route 2: 50Km to Lisdoonvarna with difficult climbs

17:00 - Arrive at Hydro Hotel Lisdoonvarna with 115/ 140 Km complete

20:00 - Dinner Served

SUNDAY 17TH - THE MORNING AFTER THE NIGHT BEFORE


These times are subject to change

10:30 - Bikes must be walked to the van and handed over by each member.

11:00 - Depart Hydro Hotel for Clane

13:30 - Arrive in Clane
